Disabling Speak to Class

Disabling Speak to Class

Overview

By default, LanSchool Classic instructors are able to speak directly to the class using the Teacher Console. Some organizations need to prevent instructors from speaking to students with LanSchool Classic.

Administrators can disable the speak to class feature on Windows or Mac OSx.

Disabling Speak to Class on Windows

To disable the speak to class feature in Windows, access the Windows registry on the teacher machine and adjust the following registry key:

32bit OS:

Key: HKLM\Software\LanSchool\
Value: AllowAudio = 0

64bit OS:
Key: HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\LanSchool\
Value: AllowAudio = 0

Disabling Speak to Class on Mac OSx

To disable the speak to class feature in Mac OSx, run the lstconfig tool in a Terminal window. The tool is provided in the LanSchool zip folder>>Mac>>Utilities folder.

The Terminal line is as follows: sudo lstconfig AllowAudio 0
