Google is no longer supporting Chrome OS apps like LanSchool Classic on Chromebooks, as of ChromeOS version 132.

However, users now have the option to enable a setting in their Google Workspace Admin to allow it to continue working until July 2025 to accommodate school district’s needs and schedules.
In addition, users can lock devices on ChromeOS version 138 (which is a long-term support/LTS version) that will allow users to continue using LanSchool Classic on Chromebooks until April 2026.

If you want to continue using LanSchool Classic on Chromebooks past ChromeOS version 132, it is required for you to update your settings in your Google Workspace Admin account.

Alert
This does not affect LanSchool Air users, or LanSchool Classic users with Windows and Mac devices.

How do you know if this change impacts you?

  1. Verify you're using LanSchool Classic. In LanSchool, go to ‘Help’ and ‘About.’ If it says LanSchool Teacher Console, the software is LanSchool Classic.

  2. Verify your students are using Chromebooks. If you're using LanSchool Classic to monitor any student Chromebook device, you will be impacted.
