LanSchool 9.1 Teacher Console Requirements
The LanSchool Teacher Console software must be installed on each instructor device. Supported device operating systems include:
- Windows 10 or 11
- Windows Server 2016 (for Terminal Services / Thin Client support only)
- macOS 10.15, 11, 12, 13 or 14
LanSchool 9.1 Student Requirements
The LanSchool Student client must be installed on each student device. Supported device operating systems include:
- Windows 10 or 11
- Windows Server 2016 (for Terminal Services / Thin Client support only)
- macOS 10.15, 11, 12, 13, 14, or 15
LanSchool Connection Service
For 500 users and below
• Dedicated workstation or virtual machine that is always up and running
• 64-bit Windows Server 2016 or higher
• Static IP Address
• 4GB RAM
• 100Mb Ethernet network adapter
For 500 to 10,000 users
• Dedicated machine or virtual machine that is always up and running
• 64-bit Windows Server 2016 or higher
• Static IP Address
• 16GB RAM or greater
• 1Gb Ethernet network adapter connected to a gigabit port on a switch
Licensing Server Connection
LanSchool Classic 9.3 requires a license key registration for the teacher consoles. Ensure the following site is whitelisted for your region.

Network Architecture
All communication between teacher and student devices occurs across the local area network. If an internal firewall exists between teacher and student devices, refer to the diagram below to ensure that communication is allowed on all necessary TCP and UDP ports.

The LanSchool Classic Teacher and Student software has been translated into several different languages. Not all components are available in all languages. To select a language, download the appropriate installation files from the
LanSchool Classic Portal.

LanSchool Classic web limiting and web history is supported using these browsers:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Safari
Due to changes in Mozilla Firefox's requirements, Web Limiting does NOT work with Firefox. The Mozilla Firefox extension is currently not supported and is under review. It's recommended to utilize the Limit Apps feature to restrict the Firefox browser.
