Using the LanSchool Classic Teacher Console
The LanSchool Classic Teacher Console provides access to the tools teachers need to monitor student computers, manage classroom activities, communicate with students, and maintain a focused learning environment.
From the Teacher Console, teachers can view student screens, broadcast their screens to the class, send messages, administer tests, share websites and applications, restrict student activity, and manage class lists.
The toolbar at the top of the Teacher Console provides quick access to commonly used features. These features are also available through the drop-down menus, organized by category.

Customize or Reset the LanSchool Classic Toolbar
You can customize the LanSchool Classic toolbar to organize the buttons and tools you use most often.
To modify the toolbar:
Open LanSchool Classic Teacher Console.
Select View > Configure Toolbar.
Use the toolbar configuration options to:
Rearrange toolbar buttons to change their order.
Add buttons to the toolbar.
Remove buttons you do not use.
Add separators to organize buttons into groups.
Apply your changes to customize the toolbar layout.
Reset the Toolbar to Default Settings
If you want to restore the original toolbar layout, select View > Configure Toolbar and click Reset. This will return the toolbar to its default settings.
Launching the Teacher Console
- Left click the system tray icon.
- Right click the system tray icon and choose "Open LanSchool Console..."
- Use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+ALT+L to launch the console.

Teachers can take control of the mouse and keyboard of a selected student’s machine.

Toggle between different viewing options
Allows you to select between viewing all student screens as thumbnails or a more detailed list view of devices in class.

Send students a text-based chat message.
Teachers can send a message to one student, a group of selected students, or the entire class.

Open a one-way communication channel between teachers and students that uses the device's microphone.
Teachers can speak to the class, let a student speak to the class, talk with a student, or listen to a student.

Blank students screen.
Forces student machines into a blank screen state which can be accompanied by text or even a defined graphic.

Restrict internet access.
Web limiting can be configured for blocking or allowing defined sites on student machines.

Restrict applications.
Allows a teacher to restrict which apps can be ran on a student machine.
